Skeletal container semi-trailers — also referred to as container chassis — are purpose-built for dedicated container haulage. 40/45 footer skeletal container trailer :

For 40 ft and 45 ft container skeletal semi-trailers, we offer two structural configurations: straight-beam and small gooseneck. The small gooseneck variant effectively reduces deck height, providing enhanced route versatility in height-restricted corridors. A 40 ft skeletal trailer is capable of carrying either a single 40 ft container or two 20 ft containers simultaneously, and is typically fitted with 4 to 14 twist locks. For back-to-back dual 20 ft container transport, a minimum of 8 twist locks is generally recommended to ensure secure load fixation. To optimize payload capacity, many customers opt for single-tire (385/65R22.5) or aluminum alloy chassis configurations, both of which contribute to significant weight reduction.

Terminal trailer （bomb cart）:

Typically 45 feet in length, these trailers can accommodate two 20 ft containers, one 40 ft container, or one 45 ft container, and are fitted with precision-engineered container stops.

Equipped with an XCMG MQH37 lifting crane, this trailer enables autonomous loading and unloading of containers without reliance on external lifting equipment, significantly streamlining container transshipment workflows.

The side loader is designed to handle, stack, and transport 20 ft, 40 ft, and other standard container sizes. It supports double-layer stacking along a single row, maximizing operational efficiency and equipment utilization.

4.Delivery and Shipment

As the external dimensions of a skeletal semi-trailer exceed those of a standard 40-foot shipping container, it cannot be fully loaded into a 40-foot container under normal conditions. To address this, we generally employ three shipping methods:

40-Foot Container Shipping:

The rear section of the semi-trailer is detached prior to loading. Upon delivery, the customer can reassemble the rear section using the high-strength bolts provided. A single 40-foot container can accommodate 2 to 4 semi-trailers using this method

45-foot container shipping:

If the customer is willing to accept higher ocean freight rates, this is a preferable option, as it eliminates the need to detach the rear section of the trailer. The unit arrives at the destination fully intact, requiring no on-site reassembly. A single 45-foot container can accommodate 2 to 4 semi-trailers.

SKD/CKD container shipping:

For customers with assembly or production capabilities, CKD or SKD packaging is also available to load into 40ft or 45ft containers. This solution can fully utilize the internal space of containers and effectively reduce ocean freight costs

Roro ship / bulk carrier shipping:

Alternatively, some customers opt to transport the semi-trailers to the destination port via roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels or bulk cargo ships. This method allows the complete unit to be shipped without any disassembly, making it an ideal choice

for customers who prioritize structural integrity and wish to avoid on-site reassembly.
