DRY VAN SEMI TRAILER( BOX TRAILER)

The box semi-trailer features good sealing performance, which is dust proof, rainproof and moisture-proof, effectively protecting goods from sun and rain. The enclosed box structure provides high safety with anti-theft function and prevents cargo damage during transportation. It has light weight, strong bearing capacity and regular internal space with large loading volume and high space utilization. With stable driving performance and good road adaptability, it is widely used to transport general cargo such as daily necessities, express goods, home appliances and clothing. The box body is sturdy, durable and not easy to deform, featuring long service life, convenient loading and unloading, high efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Based on structural design differences, Van box semi-trailers are generally classified into five types: wing van semi-trailers, curtain side semi-trailers, dry van semi-trailers, and refrigerated box semi-trailers.

3.Functions and features:

Normal dry van semi trailer Simple structure and cost-effective price. Fully enclosed box, rainproof, dustproof, moisture-proof and anti-theft, good cargo protection. Moderate dead weight, stable running and easy maintenance. Suitable for general goods, home appliances and garments. Only rear door access, slow loading and unloading speed. Although side doors can be optionally installed, its loading and unloading efficiency is much lower than that of a wing van semi-trailer. The overall length, width and height of the trailer are fully customizable. The configuration can be adjusted according to customers’ load requirements to meet different tare weight standards. Axle options include 2-axle, 3-axle and 4-axle designs.

  • Corrugated carbon steel plate is commonly used to improve loading capacity, and multi-door designs can be customized according to customer requirements. Carbon steel features heavy weight, high durability and lower cost.
  • Fiberglass is also one of the most popular materials. The fiberglass box semi-trailer adopts an integrated fiberglass box body with a smooth surface. It features excellent waterproof, moisture-proof and anti-corrosion performance. The material is rust-free, acid and alkali resistant, and anti-aging. It is not easy to deform or crack after long-term use and maintains a good appearance. With superior sealing performance, it can effectively protect cargo from rain and dust. It is lighter than carbon steel box bodies and provides larger loading capacity. The integrated molding structure is stable, easy to maintain and has a longer service life. Compared with carbon steel and aluminum alloy, fiberglass has better toughness and impact resistance. It is widely used for long-distance transportation of daily goods, express cargo and general bulk goods.
  • For aluminum alloy box bodies, aluminum profiles or aluminum panels are adopted, with either riveted or welded connections available. For large transportation companies, logistics and express delivery enterprises, a lighter tare

weight allows for more cargo loading, making aluminum alloy the optimal choice. Carbon steel features lower cost and better economy, while aluminum alloy is more durable and lightweight, enabling it to carry more cargo under the same configuration. Another advantage of the aluminum alloy semi-trailer is its easy maintenance. In case of collision damage or local breakage, only the damaged aluminum profile needs to be removed and replaced with a new one. The trailer can be restored to its original perfect condition after repair.

  • The overall length of the van semi-trailer ranges from 20ft to 18 meters. The most popular specifications are 40ft, 45ft and 53ft. The standard width is 2550mm, and the height is generally between 4m and 4.4m. All dimensions can be customized according to customer requirements and local height limit regulations.
  • The van‑body semi‑trailer can be equipped with rear doors only, or both rear and side doors. The quantity of side doors can be customized according to customer requirements.

  • It is usually equipped with 2 axles or 3 axles, and a 4-axle version is also available.

  • In addition, the trailer can be designed with a step-wise drop side structure. This design lowers the cargo center of gravity and overall height, allowing for a larger cargo capacity.

  • For the exterior design of aluminum alloy semi-trailers, customers can choose between flat aluminum panels and corrugated aluminum panels. In terms of manufacturing structure, either an all‑welded aluminum‑alloy van‑body vehicle or a riveted van‑body semi‑trailer can be adopted. The aluminum wing semi-trailer is generally constructed with aluminum profiles and lined with plywood inside. The aluminum profiles are connected by riveting instead of welding. This process better adapts to the characteristics of aluminum, delivering a stronger and more durable structure. The trailer floor can be equipped with wood board, plywood or anti-slip patterned steel plate.

  • The box can be built as an integrated structure with the trailer, or adopted as a combined solution of a skeleton chassis matched with a box of identical dimensions. This model features a split‑type design for greater loading capacity. For vehicle registration, the customer only needs to register the skeleton chassis. During transportation, the box shall be treated as cargo.
  • Another advantage of the aluminum semi-trailer is its easy maintenance. In case of collision damage or local breakage,
  • only the damaged aluminum profile needs to be removed and replaced with a new one. The trailer can be restored to its original perfect condition after repair.
  • A hydraulic liftable tailgate can be optionally installed at the rear end upon customer’s requirements.

2.SHIPMENT

Since the overall dimensions (length, width and height) of the van‑body semi‑trailer exceed those of standard containers, we normally ship by bulk carrier or ro‑ro vessel. For customers with manufacturing and assembly capabilities, SKD or CKD shipping modes are also available for container loading to save ocean freight costs.
