FLATBED SEMI TRAILER

To meet standard shipping container transportation requirements, SHIYUN TRAILER typically utilizes skeletal or flatbed container semi-trailers. Standard containers come in various sizes—including 20ft, 30ft, 40ft, 45ft, 48ft, and 53ft—with 20ft and 40ft units being the most prevalent.

Axle configurations are tailored to specific load capacities. For a general load range of 20 to 60 tons, SHIYUN typically employs two, three, or four axles to ensure safe transport.

Flatbed container semi-trailers, also known as high bed trailers or flat deck trailers, offer enhanced versatility. Designed not only for containers but also for steel products, machinery, engineering components, and bagged cement, these trailers support a broader load range of 20 to 100 tons. To accommodate heavier loads, configurations can be expanded to include 5 or 6 axles. Furthermore, the deck length is highly flexible and can be fully customized to customer specifications.

Regarding fittings, customers may opt to install container twist locks for secure container transport; alternatively, these can be omitted if the trailer is intended solely for general cargo.

GIRDER flatbed semi-trailers are engineered for exceptional sturdiness and durability. They are typically equipped with premium JOST kingpins, Fuwa B axles, or BPW axles. The design features an extended and thickened king pin plate, alongside reinforced load-bearing sections and suspension components.

To further enhance structural stability, channel steel and cross supports are installed beneath the floor. These robust structural upgrades make the trailer more durable, significantly extend its service life, and maximize payload capacity.

We also offer fully customizable configurations and flexible pricing options tailored to your specific requirements. For container flatbed semi-trailers, we equip both sides with rope tighteners to ensure the secure transportation and fixation of various goods. Beyond containers, these versatile trailers are highly suitable for transporting a wide range of general cargo and oversized freight.

3.Functions and features:

Designed to accommodate ISO standard containers, the most common lengths for flat deck semi-trailers are 20ft, 40ft, and 45ft, with other custom sizes also available. Based on their specific functions and design features, flatbed truck trailers can be categorized as follows:

20 footer flatbed container trailer :

The 20ft flatbed semi-trailer is a highly versatile transport solution, expertly designed to handle both standard shipping containers and various types of bulk or general cargo. Sharing comparable dimensions with the skeletal trailer, it typically comes standard with a dual-axle setup. However, a tri-axle configuration is also available upon request to meet specific heavy-duty requirements.

40/45 footer flatbed container trailer :

The 40ft and 45ft flatbed semi-trailers are highly favored by customers due to their exceptional versatility, particularly the ability to transport two 20ft containers simultaneously. These models typically feature a standard three-axle configuration, though we can customize the axle setup to meet specific operational requirements. They are generally equipped with 4 to 14 twist locks to ensure secure cargo fixation.

To optimize payload capacity and reduce overall weight, many customers opt for lightweight configurations. Popular choices include single-tire (385/65R22.5) setups, air bag suspensions, and aluminum alloy flatbed trailers.

Length extendable flatbed container trailer :

The extendable flatbed trailer is also a popular option among customers. The closed length and extended length can be customized according to customer requirements to adapt to goods of different sizes. A positioning pin hole is arranged every meter on the extendable beam. No matter the length of the cargo, customers can insert the positioning pin into the matching pin hole to fix the trailer length. For axles, customers can choose conventional fixed axles or steering axles. Optional steering modes include friction steering, hydraulic steering and turntable steering, all of which can be customized and selected as per customer demands.

Superlink flatbed container trailer :

The Superlink tandem flatbed semi-trailer can be designed as a combination of a 20ft lead trailer and a 40ft rear trailer. It can also be configured with both 20ft or both 40ft sections, perfectly meeting the specialized transportation requirements of certain countries. low flatbed trailer with extensive application range.

Step wise low flatbed semi trailer :

The Step Deck, also known as a Drop Deck or Low Flatbed Trailer, is engineered with a lower center of gravity to ensure optimal stability. Its signature gooseneck design creates a lowered main deck, allowing for the safe and legal transportation of over-height cargo within standard road clearance limits. This specialized structure significantly enhances overall transportation safety and efficiency.

Flatbed tipper semi trailer :

To facilitate the efficient unloading of cargo, our Flatbed Semi-Trailers offer an optimal solution. The container is securely fastened by twist locks, allowing goods to be easily discharged simply by opening the container’s rear doors.

Beyond transporting standard containers, this versatile trailer features a self-discharging mechanism that enables direct unloading of bulk cargo inside the container. Combining convenience, high efficiency, and multi-functionality, it truly embodies the concept of one vehicle for multiple applications.

Upper body modifications based on flatbed semi-trailers:

Based on the flatbed semi-trailer, we can add front head board ,side bars, drop side wall, or fences to meet the transportation needs of different types of cargo.

-Installing frond head board or rear head board of a flatbed semi-trailer can effectively prevent cargo from falling off, cushion inertia during transportation, and make operation safer and more convenient.

-By installing stakes (side bars)on the flatbed semi-trailer, it can transport timber(log), bagged cement and other goods, effectively preventing cargo from falling off and making transportation safer and more stable.

-Drop-side semi-trailers offer enhanced practicality with side boards installed on both sides. The height of these side boards is fully customizable, typically ranging from 600mm to 2000mm to suit various cargo volumes. Furthermore, container twist locks can be seamlessly integrated alongside the side boards, allowing the trailer to achieve highly versatile transportation functions.

-Fence semi-trailers generally have a higher protective structure, with a lower side board and an upper stake fence. Container twist locks can be retained, and both the side boards and stake fence are removable, making the vehicle more versatile for

different transportation needs.

3.Delivery and Shipment

As the external dimensions of a flatbed semi-trailer exceed those of a standard 40-foot shipping container, it cannot be fully loaded into a 40-foot container under normal conditions. We generally use three methods to ship container semi-trailers:

3.1  40-foot container shipping: The rear section of the semi-trailer must be cut off. After the customer receives the goods, they can reattach the rear section using high-strength bolts provided by us. One 40-foot container can hold 2 to 4 semi-trailers.

3.2  45-foot container shipping: If the customer accepts higher ocean freight, this is a better option, as no cutting of the trailer rear is required and you will receive a complete, intact unit. One 45-foot container can hold 2 to 4 semi-trailers.

3.3  Roro ship / bulk carrier shipping: Some customers also choose to transport the vehicles to the destination port via roll-on ships or bulk cargo ships.
